Vanessa Parra
Trauma Care Trainer
Montreal, QC
-
After more than a decade in animation production, Vanessa sensed a clear call to serve the Latino migrant community. Shortly after her baptism, that conviction became undeniable. What began as a step of faith through CareImpact’s Trauma Care Masterclass revealed a deeper connection between childhood trauma and the collective wounds of migration. Her why is simple: to walk alongside others as they heal, together.

Vanessa creates trauma-informed spaces where migrants can be authentic, feel safe, and grow in community. She facilitates Spanish workshops on migratory grief, collective trauma, resilience, and faith-rooted restoration. Drawing from 10+ years leading international creative teams, she brings clarity, structure, and strong storytelling to every environment she leads.
-
As a Latina migrant herself, Vanessa understands the invisible grief, identity shifts, and silent battles many newcomers carry. Her work bridges faith and narrative, helping people reframe their stories through the lens of God’s redemptive work and apply practical tools that interrupt cycles of pain.
-
Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She completed the Trauma Care Masterclass with CareImpact in 2024 and the Trauma Competent Care Course with Trauma Free World in 2025. She is currently finalizing her certification as a Trauma Trainer Associate with both organizations.
-
Vanessa believes healing is not a solitary journey. When one person finds their light, it illuminates the path for others. Her vision is to see churches and communities become safe havens where faith, story, and practical care come together for lasting transformation.
