STACEY NICKEL

Trauma Care Trainer

Winnipeg, MB

  • IMy “why” is rooted in capacity building—both in myself and in the people I get to walk alongside. I’m deeply aware of my own limitations and brokenness, and being part of the CareImpact team continually invites me into a posture of learning, humility, and growth.

I’m especially passionate about seeing children flourish, no matter their family background, exceptionalities, past trauma, or where they live. I want to become a loving, non-anxious presence for kids from hard places—and help others become the same for the children in their lives.

  • I currently work as an Educational Assistant in an elementary school in the inner city of Winnipeg. This role gives me the opportunity to apply trauma care practices daily, in real time, with children navigating incredibly hard things.

These children are my greatest teachers. Every day, I learn from their resilience, their honesty, and the sacred trust that comes with simply being present. My formal training includes:

    ✅ Trauma Care Certification
✅ The Science of Early Childhood Development
    ✅ NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention)

  • I’m a learner at heart, and I find joy in environments where encouragement, honesty, and humour help make room for grace and growth. Being part of the CareImpact team has been life-giving, as I get to grow alongside others who are earnestly seeking to love their neighbours well.

Whether in the classroom, community, or church, I carry a quiet hope: that every child would experience the safety, care, and support of loving adults who see them—really see them—and respond with grace.

  • My vision is simple but far-reaching: I want to see more children surrounded by well-equipped, compassionate adults who respond with presence, patience, and understanding.

🌱 Every child deserves a safe place to grow and be seen.
🧠 The best strategies are rooted in love and applied through relationship.
🤝 We all have something to learn—and someone to love better.
